A few years ago, when this was just a rough concept in my mind, I had a lot of questions and not a whole lot of answers – just ideas. How on earth would I be able to facilitate players helping each other on such a massive scale? Sure, I kept in touch with some of my teammates from my playing days, but the number of guys I knew well – real well -- were just a mere drop in the bucket when compared to the potential of all players across all sports learning from each other and helping one another. What we came up with is The Players Club. This month, the magazine covers some of the biggest stories in sports, from the players’ perspective. We dive in to the Brett Favre saga and his arrival in New York. The surefire Hall of Famer has taken New York by storm and pushed the defending Super Bowl champs from the headlines. We also spoke with former NHL star Cam Neely about how he is taking the fight against cancer to a new level through his charity that focuses on assisting the families of cancer patients. On the financial front, we were fortunate enough to have Tampa Bay Rays rookie sensation Evan Longoria write an article explaining why financial security and the idea of buying recurring cash flow – a key mantra of The Players Club -- resonates with him. We also take a look at how Venus and Serena Williams have turned their talent on the court into big money off of it. Since long before the magazine was launched in April, we have been working hard to create a place where players can go to achieve their professional, financial, and lifestyle goals that we talk about in the publication. How do we plan to do that? We’re recruiting the best strategic partners in the world and are currently enlisting a number of former players, which we call Player Reps, to help you achieve those goals. The response to The Players Club has been overwhelming and I want to thank everyone for their excitement so far. If you have any questions, or want to be part of the team, let me know. We’ve got big things on the horizon – the magazine is just the beginning. Always remember: |
